IECAH completes the trainings for the European Solidarity Corps Volunteers for 2024

IECAH has completed seven editions of the face-to-face training courses for candidates for the European Solidarity Corps humanitarian aid volunteer programme scheduled for 2024. In total, around 150 candidates have participated in these seven editions.

As usual, the training took place at the Sagrados Corazones residence, located in San Lorenzo del Escorial, and was given by a team of trainers composed of IECAH staff and external consultants specialised in project management, interculturality, security and gender issues.

‘I really enjoyed the course. Very complete and interesting. Also, the accommodation and food was super good.’ – Participant MA15

‘Congratulations to the trainers and the technical staff who manage it. I have absorbed a lot from you’. – Participant MA14

‘I found the content interesting, although I would have liked to have more challenges, exposure to real conditions, and questions about the changing environment of the geopolitical role of cooperation and humanitarian aid.’ – Participant MA14

These training courses are implemented by a consortium made up of Lattanzio KIBS, Punto Sud, IECAH, Bioforce and the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV) in collaboration with the European Agency for Education and Culture (EACEA), which plans to train around 1,000 volunteers to apply for volunteer positions in different parts of the world. Some of the participants of the first editions have already been deployed to their destinations by their sending organisations.

The trainings will resume in early 2025, with the aim of training around another 150 participants.
