IECAH completes the trainings for the European Solidarity Corps volunteers during 2023

IECAH has successfully completed the last two editions of the face-to-face training course for candidates to volunteer in humanitarian aid for the European Solidarity Corps.

In total, 8 editions of this training course have taken place, which prepares candidates for the various volunteering opportunities offered by the organizations. Overall, IECAH has trained 150 people during 2023.

As usual, the training took place at the Sagrados Corazones residence, located in San Lorenzo del Escorial, and was given by a team of trainers composed of IECAH staff and external consultants specialised in intercultural, security and gender issues.

“In general, the conditions and quality of the training were very good, and the treatment of the training and residence staff was cordial and attentive.  Both the mentor and the teachers are all pleasant and create a very close atmosphere. I have no complaints about the programme. I think it was very well organised from the beginning. I feel lucky to have been able to participate in this experience and I hope it will help me to be able to participate in some HA programme. I would find it interesting to have received more information about the process of applying for the projects”. – Participant of the seventh edition.

This training course is implemented by a consortium made up of Lattanzio KibsPunto SudBioforce and the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV) in collaboration with the European Agency for Education and Culture (EACEA), which plans to train around a thousand volunteers to apply for volunteer positions in different parts of the world. Some of the participants of the first editions have already been deployed to their destinations by their sending organisations.

During 2024, IECAH will implement another seven face-to-face trainings, starting from February.
