IECAH begins the trainings for the volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps 2024
The IECAH has started the face-to-face training for candidates for the European Solidarity Corps humanitarian aid volunteer programme. During the first week of February, some twenty candidates took part in this first training of the year in Spain.
As usual, the training took place at the Sagrados Corazones residence in San Lorenzo del Escorial and was given by a team of trainers made up of IECAH staff and external consultants specializing in project management, interculturality, security and gender issues.
“Very happy with the whole training, very interesting and dynamic. The teachers explained everything perfectly and were very close to us” – Participant MA09
“I felt that the course was more interesting than I expected. The best part for me was the multiculturalism and getting to create a good atmosphere in the classroom” – Participant MA09
This training course is implemented by a consortium made up of Lattanzio KIBS, Punto Sud, IECAH, Bioforce and Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV) in collaboration with the European Agency for Education and Culture (EACEA), which plans to train around a thousand volunteers to apply for volunteer positions in different parts of the world. Some of the participants of the first editions have already been deployed to their destinations by their sending organisations.
During 2024, IECAH will implement seven face-to-face trainings in total, involving around a hundred candidates.
