IECAH begins the trainings for the volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps 2025

IECAH has started the face-to-face training for candidates for the European Solidarity Corps humanitarian aid volunteer programme. During the first week of February, some twenty candidates took part in this first training of the year in Spain.

As usual, the training took place at the Sagrados Corazones residence in San Lorenzo del Escorial and was given by a team of trainers made up of IECAH staff and external consultants specializing in project management, interculturality, security and gender issues.

‘The course in general has been a great experience that has enriched my knowledge, and has helped me to get to know the world of volunteering from the perspective of incredible people, although I would have liked to have gone deeper into the knowledge that professionals like Ousseynou can give us, and to develop the dynamics that we are going to face day by day’. – Participant MA16

This training course is implemented by a consortium made up of Lattanzio KIBS, Punto Sud, IECAH, Bioforce and the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV) in collaboration with the European Agency for Education and Culture (EACEA), which plans to train around a thousand volunteers to apply for volunteer positions in different parts of the world. Some of the participants of the first editions have already been deployed to their destinations by their sending organisations.

During 2025, IECAH will implement six face-to-face trainings in total, involving around a hundred candidates.
