IECAH completes the organization of three webinars on mental health for DG ECHO

IECAH has completed support to DG ECHO’s organization of three webinars on the issue of mental health and psychosocial support in emergency and conflict situations. The three webinars have taken place between November 2022 and February 2024.

With the aim of contributing to the development of a quality response to mental health and psychosocial support needs in humanitarian action, these webinars have provided a space for discussion and exchange of best practices among donors, practitioners and other actors involved in these issues. Several hundred participants from different parts of the world were able to attend.

The first webinar, dedicated to the Middle East and North Africa region, focused on the importance of countering stigma and building capacity. The second and third webinars, dedicated to the Latin America and Caribbean region, focused on mental health and psychosocial support in contexts of gender-based violence and displacement, and on preparedness and response to extreme events.

IECAH has supported the organization of these webinars in conjunction with DG ECHO, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, the IASC Reference Group on MHPSS and MHPSS.net.

This project is part of IECAH’s collaboration in the Inspire + Consortium. This consortium is made up of several European organizations, including Groupe URD (France), ODI and DI (UK) and FaireProd.
