Triple Nexus Humanitarian Action-Development-Peace
The triple nexus, Humanitarian Action-Development-Peacebuilding, is one of the most recent proposals to enhance the response to the exacerbating complexity and duration of armed conflicts, the increase, and duration of forced displacement, and the worsening of the effects of climate change.
Taking these challenges, the different actors, including donors, international organizations, and local and international NGOs, are considering new ways of responding. The nexus approach emerges in order to better connect these three key sectors (humanitarian action, development, and peacebuilding) in response and prevention and stands as a proposal to deal with those situations in which a short-term vision and a focus only on one element are not enough to achieve a lasting solution.
