Peacebuilding
Peacebuilding (PB) is the set of actions (in the short, medium, and long term) that allow a society to prevent, manage and resolve the conflict – through its own capacities – without resorting to the use of violence. It is a dynamic process in which individuals and society as a whole strengthen their capacity to create security and sustainable development. Since its creation in 2000, the IECAH has provided information and analysis on various humanitarian and international security issues facing the world in the 21st century. As a result, the Peacebuildnign area has been consolidated through different activities in the Institute – from research to teaching, passing through the dissemination of knowledge and political advocacy and consultancy work – which make us a leading reference in the Spanish panorama of peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and international security analysis.
