Gender

Due to global structural gender inequality, women and girls are more vulnerable and this affects their capacities and needs in humanitarian contexts. But women are not only survivors, they can and must play an active and fundamental role in preparing for and responding to disasters and conflicts, building resilience, and in contributing to peace and sustainable and lasting solutions. At the IECAH we have incorporated gender as a transversal issue in all our work in humanitarian action and peacebuilding.
