Mariano Aguirre

Mariano Aguirre is an analyst of international issues. Fellow Associate of the international security program at Chatham House (London), coordinator of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation’s Latin American Network for Inclusive and Sustainable Security. He is part of the advisory council of the Human Rights Institute of the University of Deusto and the Conflict Resolution Institute of the University of Castilla La Mancha. He is also part of the board of the Equitas Foundation (Chile) and the IECAH. He has been a senior peacebuilding advisor at the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Colombia (2017-2019), director of the Norwegian Center for Conflict Resolution (NOREF) (2009-2016), and director of Peace and Security at FRIDE ( 2005-2008).
