The Executive Summary of the “Evaluation of the Prevention and Influencing Work” of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Peru is now available. This work, carried out in collaboration with Artival Research, takes an in-depth look at the ICRC Regional Delegation’s efforts to strengthen its capacity to prevent and influence key actors in the region.

The report highlights the ICRC’s efforts to create an enabling environment for the defense of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), International Human Rights Law (IHRL) and regulations on the use of force. Prevention and influencing work has been a cross-cutting component of the activities of the Delegation in Lima, with significant impact in areas such as victim protection, humanitarian access and work with groups particularly affected by violence.

The summary provides an overview of the progress made in Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia, highlighting the adoption of legal instruments that reinforce compliance with humanitarian norms at different levels. These results underscore the ICRC’s positive impact in the region and its contribution to strengthening the humanitarian framework.
